Arizona: Proposed Hunt Recommendations for 2023-2024 Seasons
The Arizona Game and Fish Department has released its proposed recommendations for the upcoming 2023 hunting season. The recommendations include proposals for deer, javelina, bighorn sheep, bison, black bear, mountain lion, sandhill crane, small game, and predatory and fur-bearing mammals seasons, as well as for the 2024 spring javelina, black bear and bison seasons.
The hunt structures and recommendations were formulated based on the hunt guidelines recently approved by the Arizona Game and Fish Commission. The proposed recommendations are available for review on the department’s website at www.azgfd.com/hunting/regulations/hunt-guidelines-process/.
The public is invited to review the recommendations and provide feedback by emailing AZHuntGuidelines@azgfd.gov or contacting any of the department’s regional offices statewide and asking to speak with a game management biologist. The department will not be holding any formal presentations.
The proposed recommendations will be presented to the commission for its consideration during a public meeting on April 14 at department headquarters in Phoenix. The meeting agenda will be posted on the department’s website at www.azgfd.gov/commission.
